Spend a day discovering just how many creative possibilities there are in weaving! This workshop is all about experimentation and play. You’ll try out a variety of techniques to create a collection of small woven pieces. Each one will look beautiful on its own, whether displayed on a wall, shelf, or tucked into a cosy corner, but together they’ll also form a body of work that develops your weaving skills.
Throughout the day, you’ll have the chance to work with a wonderful mix of natural materials from different varieties of willow to bark, freshwater rush, and other foraged fibres I’ll gather especially for the workshop. These smaller projects are perfect for anyone who loves to tinker and explore, and they’re especially inspiring for creatives, florists, forest school leaders, or educators looking to bring natural materials into their work.
With plenty of guidance and encouragement, you’ll leave with new skills, a handful of unique creations, and plenty of ideas to keep developing at home. Whether you come along solo and meet other lovely, crafty folk, or bring a friend or two for a special day out, this workshop is all about curiosity, creativity, and fun.
