You’ll start with a classic round base and be guided through best practices as you build up the basket’s upright form. Along the way, you’ll explore different ways to add structure and rhythm to your weaving, with plenty of freedom to tailor the look and level of complexity to suit your own style and skill.
You’ll finish your basket with your choice of simple or intricate top borders, and create practical yet artistic handles—either woven into the basket walls or added on top using coiling techniques. With options to make your basket in a variety of sizes, this versatile design invites creativity and experimentation, perfect for those wanting a functional piece with personal flair.
Suitable for beginners and those looking to deepen their weaving skills, this workshop has been a long-standing favourite among our students — celebrated for its balance of practicality and artistry.
