Join experienced willow sculptor Joe Gregory for a one-day creative workshop and learn to weave your very own willow bird sculpture.
Whether you're drawn to the elegant curve of a curlew, the quirky charm of a hen, or the proud stance of a heron, this course gives you the chance to bring your favourite bird to life. You can choose from a range of popular designs or dream up your own. Joe will guide you step by step as you sculpt a feathered friend full of character and charm.
This much loved workshop has been running for over a decade and continues to be one of Joe’s most popular courses. With expert tuition, inspiring examples around the studio and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, it’s a day that invites creativity, no matter your background or experience.
Working with the finest English willow, you’ll explore the fundamentals of free-form sculpture shaping and layering natural materials to create a piece that’s full of life and movement. Your finished bird will not only be a striking feature for the home or garden, but also a lasting expression of your creativity. With a simple wood preservative treatment, these sculptures can weather beautifully outdoors for many years to come.
