Create a beautiful Rope Weave basket that’s as functional as it is striking. Across the two days, you’ll explore the art of twisting and coiling willow to craft a sturdy, textured basket that’s uniquely yours.
This workshop is a chance to slow down, get hands-on with natural materials, and really understand the rhythm and flow of basketry. With guidance at every step, you’ll discover how to bring together traditional techniques and contemporary design to produce a basket you can be proud of.
Beginners are very welcome, though a bit of hand strength and curiosity will help you enjoy the process to the fullest. By the end of the course, you’ll have not just a finished basket, but a deeper understanding of the craft and confidence to try it again at home.
Important Notes:
Good mobility in hands and feet is required; you’ll be standing while weaving.
Please wear old, non-dangly clothes, covered-toe shoes (no sandals), and minimal or no jewellery.
