Join me for a two-day workshop where you’ll learn to weave a beautiful and practical Catalan inspired oval shopping basket. This versatile basket is perfect for beginners and intermediates alike — if you’ve made baskets before, we can explore different weave patterns and border techniques, while complete beginners will have plenty of guidance to create a basket they’ll be proud of.
Over the course of the two days, you’ll work with the finest English willows and practice at least three different types of weaving, building your skills while creating a strong, attractive, and instantly useful basket. The addition of a handle is a handy technique to add to your basket-making toolkit.
I’ve been teaching this course for several years, and students always leave with a gorgeous, functional basket and plenty of confidence to make more at home.
Whether you come alone or bring a friend, this workshop is a lovely, inspiring way to spend two creative days.
