This one-day workshop focuses on a simple and traditional round berry-picking basket, made using English willow and age-old techniques. Designed for absolute beginners and those who appreciate a relaxed, hands-on approach, this workshop offers essential techniques at a comfortable pace—creating a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of background or ability.

Rooted in historic utility, this style of basket was often made quickly by hand for everyday use—ideal for gathering berries, herbs, eggs, or small items around the home or land. During the day, you’ll learn how to form a round base, stake up the sides, and weave a neat, practical shape that connects you to a simpler, seasonal way of living.

This workshop is well suited to complete beginners and makes a lovely entry point into the craft.

If you already have some weaving experience or are looking for a more complex basketry challenge, one of our two-day courses may be a better fit.
