My most popular basket-making course!

The Asymmetrical Basket is one of my favourite baskets to teach because there are so many different design possibilities. No two baskets need ever be quite the same, and having two full days gives us time to settle into a rhythm, get into a real weaving flow and explore where the basket can take you.

I'll guide you through the construction of the basket step by step, while also giving you plenty of opportunity to make your own creative decisions about shape, size and design.

The course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some previous weaving experience. If you're new to willow weaving, I'll guide you through all the techniques you need to create your basket. If you've already got some experience, we can look at ways to progress your weaving and explore different techniques that can be incorporated into your basket.

I'm really happy to be teaching at Northlight Art Studios again. This is another venue where I taught regularly before the pandemic, and it's a wonderfully welcoming and creative space for us to come together and weave.

Venue:

Northlight Art Studios
Valley Road
Hebden Bridge

Getting here

Please be aware that parking is limited in the centre of Hebden Bridge. The town is well served by both bus and train, so public transport can be a good option.

If you're travelling to the course and need to stay overnight, I'd recommend researching your accommodation and how you're going to get to the venue before booking your place. Hebden Bridge is a very popular destination, particularly at weekends, so planning ahead will make your visit much more enjoyable.
